Play Sega Game Gear Games Online Free
The Sega Game Gear, released in 1990, was Sega's answer to Nintendo's Game Boy and the first mainstream portable console with a full-color backlit screen. Based on the Sega Master System architecture, the Game Gear could play many Master System titles through an adapter and had its own impressive library of portable games. Its landscape form factor and colorful display were years ahead of the competition.

Game Gear Technical Specs & History
The Game Gear featured a 3.58 MHz Zilog Z80 CPU (same family as the Master System), 8KB of RAM, and a 3.2-inch backlit color LCD screen displaying up to 32 colors simultaneously from a palette of 4,096. While its color screen was a significant advantage over the Game Boy's monochrome display, it consumed 6 AA batteries in approximately 3-5 hours. Sega sold around 11 million Game Gear units worldwide, and the system had a library of over 360 games.
