The PS2 featured Sony's custom 294.912 MHz "Emotion Engine" CPU with a Graphics Synthesizer GPU capable of rendering 75 million polygons per second. It had 32MB of main RAM and 4MB of VRAM. The PS2 was the first console to include a DVD drive, which contributed enormously to its sales as it was often more affordable than standalone DVD players.
