03

Complete walkthrough

6 chapters from the opening stage through completion.

01
Chapter 1

N. Sanity Island opening

Learn crate rules, Aku Aku protection and basic depth perception.

  1. Clear N. Sanity Beach and Jungle Rollers while practicing centered jumps and controlled spins.
  2. Collect Aku Aku masks before risky sequences and avoid breaking checkpoint crates until the nearby route is understood.
Checkpoint

Papu Papu reached and defeated.

02
Chapter 2

River routes and Ripper Roo

Cross Upstream-style stages and learn moving-platform commitment.

  1. Watch leaf and log cycles for a full sequence before jumping across water.
  2. Against Ripper Roo, stand on safe tiles and trigger TNT so its explosion catches his predictable pattern.
Checkpoint

Ripper Roo defeated.

03
Chapter 3

Ruins and Koala Kong

Handle collapsing platforms, darkness and heavy projectiles.

  1. In temple stages, keep Aku Aku light sources alive and move only after the next platform is visible.
  2. Return Koala Kong's rocks after avoiding debris and wait for the mine-cart lane to clear.
Checkpoint

Koala Kong defeated.

04
Chapter 4

Slippery climbs and Pinstripe

Survive vertical castle stages and the generator-room gunfight.

  1. On stair and window routes, stop at stable ledges and read moving birds or platforms before jumping.
  2. Use office furniture as cover against Pinstripe and attack during his reload or weapon-jam opening.
Checkpoint

Pinstripe defeated.

05
Chapter 5

Generator, bridges and N. Brio

Clear the hardest precision stages before Cortex.

  1. Use the rope edges only when necessary on bridge stages and prefer measured single jumps.
  2. Against N. Brio, bounce slime projectiles back in phase one, then use falling debris to jump onto his transformed head.
Checkpoint

N. Brio defeated.

06
Chapter 6

Cortex and full completion

Finish the airship battle and return for gems.

  1. Spin Cortex's green energy shots back at him while avoiding the red and blue patterns.
  2. For gem routes, revisit stages after obtaining the required colored gems and finish no-death crate runs where the original rules demand them.
Checkpoint

Cortex defeated and gem cleanup route available.

04

Secrets and field notes

Useful details for cleaner runs and full completion.

Colored gem paths

Colored gems reveal platforms in other stages, so some crate routes cannot be finished on the first visit.

Bonus rounds

Collect character tokens to enter bonus areas that provide crates, fruit and extra lives without using a normal death.

Depth alignment

Crash's shadow is the most reliable landing indicator in forward-facing jumps.

05

Frequently asked questions

Fast answers to common progression problems.

Why can I not reach every crate?

Some stages require a colored gem from another level to activate an alternate platform route.

How do Aku Aku masks work?

A mask absorbs a hit. Collecting multiple masks increases protection and can temporarily grant invincibility.

How do I beat Cortex?

Dodge red and blue attacks and spin the green energy shots back until they damage his hoverboard.
