đ About Super Mario World
Super Mario World is a legendary side-scrolling platform game developed and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Released in 1990 in Japan and 1991 in North America, it quickly became one of the best-selling video games of all time and is widely regarded as one of the greatest games ever created.
The game follows Mario and Luigi as they travel through Dinosaur Land to rescue Princess Toadstool from Bowser and the Koopalings. Along the way, players encounter Yoshi, a friendly dinosaur who becomes Mario's trusty companion and adds a whole new dimension to gameplay.
đĻ Yoshi - Your Dinosaur Companion
Super Mario World introduced one of Nintendo's most beloved characters: Yoshi. This friendly green dinosaur can eat enemies with his long tongue, gain special abilities from colored shells, and even flutter jump. Different colored Yoshis (Green, Red, Blue, Yellow) each have unique powers when combined with Koopa shells:
- Green Yoshi: Standard abilities, shell effects depend on shell color
- Red Yoshi: Spits fire with any shell
- Blue Yoshi: Can fly with any shell
- Yellow Yoshi: Creates ground pound shockwaves
đēī¸ 96 Levels of Adventure
The game features a massive world map with 96 exits spread across multiple themed worlds including Yoshi's Island, Donut Plains, Vanilla Dome, Twin Bridges, Forest of Illusion, Chocolate Island, Valley of Bowser, and the secret Star World and Special World.
Many levels contain secret exits marked by a red goal post (instead of the normal gray one), which unlock hidden paths and bonus areas on the world map. Finding all 96 exits is a challenging but rewarding goal for completionists!

â Power-Ups & Abilities
- Super Mushroom: Transforms Mario into Super Mario, allowing him to break bricks and take an extra hit
- Fire Flower: Gives Mario the ability to throw fireballs at enemies
- Cape Feather: Grants the iconic cape for flying, gliding, and spinning attacks
- Super Star: Temporary invincibility with rainbow-colored Mario
- P-Balloon: Inflates Mario allowing him to float through the air
- 1-Up Mushroom: Grants an extra life
đ Spin Jump
Super Mario World introduced the Spin Jump (press A button), a special move that allows Mario to bounce on enemies that would normally hurt him (like Spinies), break certain blocks from above, and safely descend onto dangerous terrain.

- Use keyboard controls or connect a USB/Bluetooth gamepad
- Press Enter to start the game and select your save file
- Navigate the world map and enter levels to play
- Find the goal post at the end of each level to progress
- Save your progress using F2 (save state) anytime!
