Choose the same game
Both players open the same PSP title from the PSP games page. Matching game regions and versions provide the best chance of lobby compatibility.
The OldGames PSP player can tunnel compatible Ad Hoc multiplayer traffic through a browser relay. Coordinate the same game and region with another player, then use the title's local or Ad Hoc lobby.

Use the game's Ad Hoc, Local Multiplayer or nearby-player menu. Do not choose Infrastructure or PlayStation Network when a title offers separate modes.
In PPSSPP's server selector, use OldGames Browser Relay. Native regional entries such as Brazil relays use raw TCP and cannot be contacted directly by a web browser.
One player creates or enters a room and the other joins the same channel. Stay in the lobby long enough for both browser sessions to discover each other.
| Supported network type | Compatible PSP Ad Hoc multiplayer traffic from the OldGames browser player. |
|---|---|
| Not supported | PlayStation Network, account services, publisher-operated Infrastructure servers and features that were never part of PSP Ad Hoc mode. |
| Game matching | Both players should use the same title, game version and region. Different revisions may advertise incompatible lobbies. |
| Players | The relay does not add bots or supply opponents. A second real player must be online and inside the same compatible lobby. |
| Device advice | A current desktop or Android browser is recommended for demanding PSP games. Performance and multiplayer timing can vary by device. |
Some PSP games have more than one network menu. The beta relay is for Ad Hoc/local multiplayer, not remote publisher servers.
If a saved PPSSPP setup still shows Relay Brasileiro, NT Arena Brasil or another public desktop relay, restart the player. OldGames migrates that selection to its secure browser-compatible WSS relay.
Use the same US, Europe or Japan game release when possible. Region or revision differences can prevent lobby discovery.
Have one player create the room first, then let the second player refresh or re-enter the same Ad Hoc channel.
Close heavy tabs and keep OldGames Live video off while playing. For a two-browser test on one computer, both PSP instances share the same CPU and GPU; that is heavier than two players on separate devices. Keep both at normal speed and avoid frame skip.
No. The game must include a compatible PSP Ad Hoc multiplayer mode. Single-player titles and games that require a closed Infrastructure server do not become online games through the relay.
Yes. Use the same title and preferably the same region and revision. Different versions can use different lobby identifiers or incompatible networking behavior.
No. It tunnels compatible Ad Hoc traffic. It does not restore PSN, publisher accounts, rankings, downloadable content or closed Infrastructure servers.
No. OldGames is an independent site. PSP and PlayStation are names associated with Sony; this beta is not an official Sony service.
